XANGEN™ Drops

Andéan Blend (Standardized Cocoa Almond Blend):
Cocoa: Studies have shown that components of cocoa can extend endurance1, optimize cognitive performance2,3. Support a balanced mood4,5, and suppress appetite6. Standardization of key biologically-active constituents increases cocoa’s natural benefits by up to twelve times7. The cocoa in the Andéan Blend is uniquely processed to yield a high concentration of the xanthines: theobromine, theophylline, and caffeine.

Almond: The Andéan Blend’s most predominate attributes are associated with the xanthine content. However it does include some almond. Recently, research has suggested that almonds may help support health cholesterol levels.

Xanthines
Theobromine: Theobromine is the primary xanthine found in cocoa. Theobromine is known as a gentle stimulant. It is very similar to caffeine in how it reacts with the body, but more mild and does not affect the central nervous system. Theobromine is also known for its ability to dilate blood vessels making it a commonly recommended for people suffering from high blood pressure.

Theophylline: Theophylline is a xanthine most commonly found in tea, but it is also prevalent in cocoa and guarana. It is commonly recommended for individuals experiencing breathing difficulties due to its ability to opens air passages in the lungs.

Caffeine: Caffeine and the closely related alkaloids theobromine and theophylline are compounds that are known to help curb appetite and increase weight loss. Caffeine’s effects are well known and include central nervous system stimulation, increased metabolic rate, and a mild diuretic effect.8

Guarana:
Guarana is an evergreen vine native to the Amazon basin. Guarana is a natural source of caffeine, theobromine, and theophylline xanthines. (See xanthine section under Andéan Blend for more information.)

Licorice:
Licorice was and continues to be one of the most important herbs in traditional Chinese medicine. The two major component of licorice are glycyrrhizin and flavonoids. According to research, glycyrrhizin has anti-inflammatory actions and may hinder the breakdown of the cortisol (a stress related hormone often found in excess amounts in individuals struggling to lose weight) produced by the body.9,10 Licorice is also known to nourish and support adrenal function.

White Willow:
White Willow bark was a common recommendation by herbalists for fever, headache, overall pain, and rheumatic complaints.11 A primary constituent in white willow is salicylic acid. Salicylic acid was the basis for the development of aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid). 12 White willow is also a common ingredient in weight loss formulas. It doesn’t promote weight loss on its own, but it appears to accentuate the effects of other ingredients useful for weight loss.

Chromium is an essential trace mineral that helps the body maintain normal blood sugar levels. Chromium is also touted to play a role in increasing HDL “good” cholesterol,14 while lowering overall cholesterol levels.15

Guarana Extract:
Guarana is an evergreen vine indigenous to the Amazon basin. The vast majority of guaraná is grown in a small area in northern Brazil. Guarana is a natural source of caffeine, theobromine, and theophylline xanthines. (See xanthine section under Andéan Blend for more information.)

More and more research is showing that polyphenols may provide significant support to cardiovascular health.
